As your Chief Delegate and Delegate to the House of Delegates of the APTA, Wendy Fox and myself would like to invite you all to review the attached PowerPoint of what is being covered this year at the HOD 2018.
The APTA HOD is set to take place from June 25th through June 27, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. During that time, your professional organization has a list of 57 motions for the House of Delegates to consider. Rather than host a traditional caucus, Wendy and I have decided to provide you with an overview PowerPoint of the motions and then host a Go-To meeting caucus on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 at 6pm. You can call in to the meeting from any place that is convenient for you.
We hope this will allow us as the voting delegates to get a sense on how RI PTs and PTAs feel about the various proposed amendments, charges and policies we are seeking to rescind. As the delegates for RI, both Wendy and I feel that it is our obligation to vote consistent with our constituents.
There are motions (a.k.a RC’s) that many of you might find interesting and might have a solid opinion about for us to consider. Some RC’s that we have seen heavy debate on:
- RC-31-18: Procedural Interventions Performed Exclusively by Physical Therapists
RC-37-18: Guidelines for Pro Bono Physical Therapy Services
RC 43-18: Endorsement and Integration of the International Association for the study of pain competency.
RC 45-18: Institutional Review Board as an APTA Member benefit
We hope to hear your voices on Wednesday, June 20th at 6pm at our Go-To telephone meeting. If you can’t be available, consider emailing me with any questions or opinions at carolpetrie11@gmail.com.
Best regards,
Carol G. Petrie
