Each year, we invite professionals to discuss and challenge us to think about the future of our profession. This year's presentations will be "How does the Future of Technology Fit into Rehab?"
Mariusz Furmanek, PhD, PT, DPT
Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at URI.
Will present recent work examining the role of key brain regions (using transcranial magnetic stimulation to temporarily perturb cortical circuits) in visual and proprioceptive updating of reach-to-grasp coordination.
Justin Laferrier, PT, PhD
Associate Director and Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at Johnson & Wales University
Will discuss his work on developing a low cost, durable energy storage and return foot for amputees in low-resource countries.
Dhaval Solanki, PhD
URI Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering Department
Will discuss Kaya- Telemonitoring progress of Parkinson's
