Updating your Find a PT profile


How to add yourself and your practice to Find a PT


“Find a PT” profiles are available to APTA member physical therapists who are willing to be contacted by consumers seeking care or by other health care providers making referrals. 

Consumers can access “Find a PT” via APTA’s official consumer information website at ChoosePT.com/FindaPT

To set up your profile in Find a PT:

  • After logging in to APTA.org using your member login, select “Profile" at the top right of the page.


  • Scroll down to "Online Profile" and select "Find a PT".

You are now in “Edit Online Profile”. 

  • Make sure you check the box next to “Activate Find a PT Listing”. 
  • Add and update your profile information. Please be sure to: 
    • Add a headshot (this makes your profile more appealing to consumers)
    • Make selections for your practice setting and practice focus (this makes it easier for consumers to find you)
    • Note: If you have achieve ABPTS board-certified clinical specialization, this information will be automatically populated in your profile based on information in our database 
  • Very important, at the bottom, you must have a practice location listed for your profile to appear via the location search (city, state, zip). You can be found by name, practice setting and other options you have completed, but the location search uses your practice location. 
  • To add a Practice location, choose “Add New Location” and complete the fields.
