Event Details:
For practitioners who are instrumental in determining which brace style would be appropriate for a DAFO patient and who may be involved in casting the patient for brace fabrication. The presentation introduces common patient groups for DAFO application. Within each group, the discussion focuses on the lower extremity biomechanical needs of the patient. The specific DAFO brace designs suitable for each level of need and the brace features that will best provide the required support and control are discussed. The practicum allows the practitioner to experience the casting process, which provides an important base for assessment of brace fit and minor clinical adjustments. You are encouraged to ask questions and troubleshoot particular problems regarding pediatric and adult orthoses.
